Abstract
The dissection of genetic resistance to murine cytomegalovirus infection in inbred laboratory mouse strains led to the identification of a natural killer cell activation receptor that recognizes a virus-encoded protein. Herein, we summarize the genetic approach and findings that have provided novel insights into innate immune control of virus infections.Entities:
