Abstract
Ultrastructural findings in endomyocardial biopsy specimens obtained during cardiac catheterization in a patient with severe preeclampsia are described. Intramyocardial vessels revealed prominent swelling of the endothelial cell cytoplasm. In addition, cardiac myocyte mitochondria showed swelling and clearing within the matrix. Endomyocardial ultrastructural injury occurs in severe preeclampsia.Entities:
