Abstract
Venous thromboembolism (VTE), a term indicative of both deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, is a life-threatening condition that often can be prevented by knowledge and preparedness. Surgical patients are at a great risk for VTE due to immobility and other factors. Recent research on VTE indicates that nurses play a part in its prevention through assessment and consistent nursing care.Entities:
