Abstract
All four TMV-coded proteins (180K, 130K, 30K, and coat) and corresponding mRNAs were detected in TMV-infected protoplasts. The 30K protein and its mRNA were synthesized between 2 and 9 hr postinoculation, while the other proteins and their mRNAs (the CP mRNA, the genomic RNA) were synthesized continuously. The results indicated that the synthesis of the two subgenomic RNAs (the CP mRNA, the 30K protein mRNA) is regulated by different mechanisms.Entities:
