Insurance companies' view on outpatient treatment.

J A van Adrichem1.

Abstract

Now that outpatient treatment of bacterial infections is becoming a clinical reality for some patients, many medical insurance companies have expressed an interest in the increased patient benefits and reduced costs of this kind of patient care. The practicalities of transferring treatment to an outpatient setting and the regulations that would surround its initiation are discussed.
