Abstract
Tendon disorders are debilitating, and difficult to manage. Current management strategies offer symptomatic relief, but do not result in definitive disease resolution. Despite remodeling, the biochemical and mechanical properties of healed tendon tissue may never match those of intact tendons. This article presents a detailed up-to-date review of possible strategies for optimizing tendon healing and repair, such as growth factor therapy, gene therapy, and tissue engineering.Entities:
