Abstract
Open surgical treatment of comminuted tibial pilon fractures is associated with substantial complications in many patients. Indirect reduction and stabilization of fractures by means of distraction using a circular external fixator can be a useful method of achieving satisfactory joint restoration, and employs the principles of closed reduction to realign disrupted bones and joint structures. In this report, we describe the case of a patient with a comminuted tibial pilon fracture treated by means of closed reduction and stabilization using a circular external fixator.Entities:
