Abstract
Radiation necrosis of the brain is a well documented adverse effect of radiation therapy. The authors report an unusual case of relapsing multifocal radiation necrosis following whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT) for brain metastases from a systemic germ cell tumor. Anticoagulation with warfarin may have had therapeutic benefit. The patient is alive without a neurological deficit 10 years after the diagnosis of radiation necrosis.Entities:
