Abstract
BACKGROUND: A pig phenotype characterized by juvenile hairlessness, thin skin and age dependent lung emphysema has been discovered in a Danish pig herd. The trait shows autosomal co-dominant inheritance with all three genotypes distinguishable. Since the phenotype shows resemblance to the integrin beta6 -/- knockout phenotype seen in mice, the two genes encoding the two subunits of integrin alphavbeta6, i.e. ITGB6 and ITGAV, were considered candidate genes for this trait.Entities:

qPCR data for the two ITGB6 target sequences Ex9-10 and Ex3 and the three reference genes RPL4, YWHAZ and HPRT and the ITGAV target sequence Ex1-3 and the three reference genes RPL4, TBP and HPRT. The hh group serves as control group for the HH group. All three p-values > 0.05 indicating not significantly different expression levels in the hh and HH groups.
