Paradoxical roles of Foxp3+ T cells during infection: from regulators to regulators.

Yasmine Belkaid1.

Abstract

T cells expressing the transcription factor Foxp3 have been shown to limit immune responses against microbes. In a recent issue of Science, Lund et al. support the idea that these cells can also coordinate the early entrance of innate cells at the effector site and therefore positively contribute to protective immunity.
