Hristo P Dobrev1.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Nailfold skin capillaroscopy is a simple non-invasive method used to assess conditions of disturbed microcirculation such as Raynaud's phenomenon, acrocyanosis, perniones, connective tissue diseases, psoriasis, diabetes mellitus, neuropathy and vibration disease. AIM: To develop data analysis software aimed at assisting the documentation and analysis of a capillaroscopic investigation. SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION: The programme is based on a modular principle. The module "Nomenclatures" includes menus for the patients' data. The module "Examinations" includes menus for all general and specific aspects of the medical examination and capillaroscopic investigations. The modules "Settings" and "Information" include customization menus for the programme. The results of nailfold capillaroscopy can be printed in a short or expanded form. This software allows physicians to perform quick search by using various specified criteria and prepare analyses and reports.
CONCLUSION: This software programme will facilitate any practitioner who performs nailfold skin capillaroscopy.
