Abstract
Hashimoto's encephalopathy- or steroid responsive encephalopathy with autoimmune thyreoiditis (SREAT) - is a disease that can show multiple neurologic manifestations. So far, the pathogenesis of Hashimoto's encephalopathy is not clear. We report on a 47-year-old male patient suffering from a cerebral infarction of the right posterior cerebral artery within the framework of an angiographic confirmed cerebral vasculitis and an autoimmune thyreoiditis. The clinical presentation of the disease could hardly be distinguished from the symptoms of Hashimoto's encephalopathy. The concurrence of the present results supports the view of a possible vasculitic origin of Hashimoto encephalopathy.Entities:
