[A new species of the Italian tick fauna. II. Ixodes arboricola Schulze and Schlottke, 1929].

The bird-tick Ixodes (Pholeoxiodes) arboricola Schulze and Schlottke, 1929, is reported for the first time in Italy with larvae and nymphs parasitizing Passer domesticus italiae (Vieillot) and Phoenicurus ph. phoenicurus L. Variation, natural bird hosts and presumed distribution also in Italian Alps and Apennines are discussed.
