Abstract
This case represents the first laparoscopic removal of a gallbladder containing a polypoid cystadenoma, which had prolapsed into the common bile duct. During the operation it was necessary to reduce the prolapsed polyp out of the cystic duct back into the gallbladder. The gallbladder was removed and the specimen was identified as cystadenoma on pathologic review. Only 7 gallbladder cystadenomas have been previously reported in literature. Although this is the second reported gallbladder cystadenoma to cause intrinsic obstruction of the common bile duct, it is the first to be treated with a minimally invasive laparoscopic cholecystectomy.Entities:
