Abstract
Benign tumours of the oesophagus are rare, representing less than 1% of all oesophageal neoplasms. Most of them are intramural leiomyomas while the other benign tumours are encountered only infrequently; among these pedunculated intraluminal hamartomas form a particularly rare group.
