Prevalence of acute renal failure is rising on account of a aging population. Despite improvements in treatment of renal failure-related complications and renal replacement therapy, its mortality remains elevated. Therefore, earlier detection and prevention of frequent causes of acute renal failure in patients at risk are of paramount importance.
