Is Ewing's sarcoma a stem cell tumor?

Paul S Meltzer1.

Abstract

Solving the histogenesis of Ewing's sarcoma has defied investigators despite progress in understanding its molecular pathogenesis. In a recent issue of Cancer Cell, Tirode et al. (2007) present evidence supporting the hypothesis that this rare cancer arises from a primitive mesenchymal precursor.
