Abstract
Outcome after surgical treatment has been based predominantly on objective criteria. A more global assessment is necessary which also includes patient-reported health-related quality of life. The literature concerning investigations on quality of life measurements in surgery and follow-up in colorectal cancer is reviewed. Only a few studies are published; the results are conflicting and the methodology questionable. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a strong need for further research in this field.Entities:
