Abstract
We describe a rare case of leiomyosarcoma originating from the superior mesenteric vein with concomitant liver metastases in a 62-year-old woman. She underwent a tumor resection and venous reconstruction, right hemicolectomy, and right hepatic lobectomy. Since the tumor was weakly positive for c-kit, she was treated with imatinib mesylate for the recurrent liver tumors. She has survived for about 3 years after undergoing the surgical procedures.Entities:
