Abstract
Diffuse, non-inflammatory, non-neoplastic enlargement of the major salivary glands (sialosis) is uncommon and has various systemic causes. This paper examines 35 patients whose persistent swelling of the parotid was diagnosed as sialosis, and shows that diabetes mellitus and alcoholism are the most common causes.Entities:
