Abstract
Vital activity is impossible without energy. Lung ventilation, heart activity, digestion, secretion, locomotion--these functions require and consume a substantial amount of energy. But preservation of viability requires comparatively small amount of energy, and in some cases can manage almost without energy. A prolonged preservation of viability with minimal energy consumption we conventionally call life without energy. This special feature of living organisms is considered in the present work in a comparative physiological aspect.Mesh:
