Abstract
Haplotypes are useful in population genetics and medicine. Determining haplotypes in the absence of DNA samples from appropriate family members can be difficult and laborious. We have developed a rapid and reproducible method for haplotyping an individual in the absence of relatives. The method utilizes pairs of allele-specific PCR primers to differentially amplify each haplotype. Four amplifications can distinguish the haplotypes produced by two biallelic polymorphisms.Mesh:
