Abstract
A plasma-membrane fraction was isolated from the alga Hydrodictyon africanum by micro-dissection and its phospholipid components were analysed. Phosphatidylcholine was the major phospholipid of the preparation. Both phosphatidylserine and diphosphatidylglycerol were enriched in the fraction compared with the whole cell, but the relative amount of phosphatidylglycerol present was less than that in the whole cell. Phosphatidylinositol was absent from the plasma-membrane preparation.Entities:
