Abstract
The effect of sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (S-T) and sulfadoxine-primethamine (S-P) against Pneumocystis carinii (Pc) were examined in severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice which are known to be susceptible to Pc. These animals develop fatal pneumocystosis without treatment with any immunosuppressant. The results suggested that S-T and S-P were effective against both trophic and cystic forms of Pc in SCID mice.Entities:
