Abstract
The goal of this article is to review the various indications for the application of external beam radiotherapy in the management of thyroid cancer. This article includes a discussion of published literature to define risk variables that increase the risk of recurrence after surgery that might be mitigated by the use of radiation therapy. Clinical outcomes, recent technologic advances in treatment planning and radiation delivery, and potential morbidity associated with treatment are also reviewed.Entities:
