Spontaneous giant retinal pigment epithelial tear.

Trent C Roydhouse, J Doug Roydhouse.

Abstract

Retinal pigment epithelial tears are most commonly found in the context of aged related macular degeneration with associated choroidal neovascular membrane or retinal pigment epithelial atrophy. We report a case of spontaneous giant pigment epithelial tear in a patient with only relevant history of head trauma many years prior to presentation.
