Abstract
The delivery of chemical agents by subgingival irrigation has become increasingly important as an adjunct to mechanical procedures such as scaling and root planing in the treatment of gingivitis and early stages of periodontal diseases. This article presents the rationale for subgingival irrigation therapy in the dental office, and outlines proper irrigation technique as well as treatment planning guidelines.Entities:
