[Displacement fractures of the collum in the growth period--conservative vs. operative treatment].

In dislocated fractures of the collum mandibulae in children, open reduction without internal fixation seems to be an effective therapeutic approach. Based on the case of a nine-year-old boy a discussion of the indications, advantages and risks is presented.
