[The regenerative capability of the condylar process of the mandible].

K K Gundlach1, E Schwipper, A Fuhrmann.

Abstract

In a roentgenographic follow-up study in children with 139 fractures of the condylar process of the lower jaw the following observations were made: A restitutio ad integrum was achieved with conservative measures in all of the non-displaced fractures, in most of the displaced fractures, and in less than 50% of the fracture dislocations. The best results were seen in children under the age of 10 years.
