Lingual abscess: a rarity.

A lingual abscess is a great rarity. Only two cases have ever been reported from the United Kingdom, and only three cases have been recorded outside of India in the past fifty years. The third British case is reported and the previous literature reviewed, along with discussion of the aetiology, presentation, bacteriology and management of this rare condition.
