Multimodality imaging of Candida tropicalis myositis.

Daniel M Schwartz1, Elaine R Morgan.

Abstract

Fungal myositis is a rare entity that has been described in immunocompromised patients. We present a boy with biopsy proven fungal myositis who was examined with multiple imaging modalities. MR imaging proved to be very effective for diagnostic purposes, while US imaging was able to provide guidance for biopsy.
