Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the cervix: case report of a rare entity.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the cervix is a rare entity. To date, less than 20 cases have been reported in the English literature. CASE: We present a case of a 75-year-old multigravida woman who was treated with radiation therapy.
CONCLUSION: It is an aggressive tumour and primary treatment with radiation in early stage disease offers an effective form of therapy.
