[Clinical significance of broad-spectrum beta-lactamases and experience with their identification in microbiological practice].

A brief overview of bacterial beta-lactamases is provided and their clinical importance is discussed. In addition, selected options of the detection of AmpA and AmpC enzymes are listed, with special focus on phenotyping methods.
