Abstract
Sleep disturbances occur in 70% of the patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA). Disturbances of the hypothalamic hypocretin neurotransmission have been suggested as a possible cause. Since a systematic study of CSF hypocretin-1 levels in MSA has not yet been performed, we analysed CSF hypocretin-1 concentrations in 6 MSA-P and 6 MSA-C patients and 11 age-matched controls.
