Guo-Ju Xiao1, Qiang Zhang, Jing Wang.

Abstract

In global climate change, the most important ecological factors influencing agricultural production and agro-ecosystem are elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration, enhanced air temperature, and changed precipitation, which mainly exert on crop output, crop growth, diseases and pests, agricultural water resources, and structure and function of agro-ecosystem. In past decades, global climate change already made great influences on our agriculture and agro-ecosystem, especially the agricultural production in arid regions of North China, and many of the influences were negative or adverse. This paper summarized the impact of global climate change on agricultural water resources, soil nutrients, crop growth and development, diseases and pests, weeds, food safety, and structure and function of agro-ecosystem. Aiming at the challenges brought about by the global climate change to the agricultural production and agro-ecosystem in China in 21st century, the key points and difficulties in future research were put forward.
