Management of emergencies. I. Management of the unconscious patient.

S Locke1.

Abstract

At the Boston City Hospital, with the arrival of each new generation of interns, a series of lectures is given on the management of medical emergencies. This series has been sponsored by the First and Third (Tufts) Medical Services under the direction of Dr. Fernando Biguria, and all the medical services have taken part. The lectures continue to be among the most popular and valuable conferences held during the year. Because of this, the Journal, has arranged a similar series, many of the articles being written by participants in the Boston City Hospital lecture course, with the hope that they may be helpful to all physicians, but especially to the young men and women who are now eagerly awaiting their internship this July.
