Esophageal ultrasonography.

G N Tytgat1, T L Tio.

Abstract

Esophageal ultrasonography (EUS) is the most sophisticated noninvasive technique for characterizing esophageal mucosal detail. Many pathologic states can be defined more accurately with the use of EUS, resulting in better patient-management decisions. Technical and practical aspects of EUS are discussed in this article.
