Genetic variation of the norovirus GII-4 genotype associated with a large number of outbreaks in Chiba prefecture, Japan.

Abstract

Between October and December, 2006, high activity of three genetically distinct norovirus GII-4 subtypes was observed in Chiba prefecture, Japan. One subtype was newly identified in this period and it was detected in 85% of outbreaks.
