Ureteroappendiceal fistula due to gossypiboma.

Abstract

A case of gossypiboma (retained surgical sponge) is described which caused ureteroappendiceal fistula 4 years after an open right ureterolithotomy operation. The patient was treated by removal of the retained sponges, appendectomy and ureteral stent insertion. 2007 S. Karger AG, Basel
