Care closer to home. Moving care.

Martin Roland, Bonnie Sibbald, Ruth McDonald.

Abstract

Shifting services from secondary to primary care and tackling referrals may increase the efficiency and effectiveness of outpatient services. Relocating specialists in primary care or developing joint working between primary and secondary clinicians is of more doubtful value. Investigation facilities should be community based.
