Cytochrome in Thiobacillus thiooxidans.

Abstract

Cytochrome is present in the autotrophic sulfur bacterium, Thiobacillus thiooxidans. As mediator in the final electron transfer to oxygen, the cytochrome participates in the oxidation of sulfur compounds by extracts of the organism.
