Abstract
Immersing the roots of growing strawberry plants in aqúeous solutions of 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate closes the stomata, reduces water loss, and increases the time before complete wilting under drought conditions. Under such drought conditions plant survival and vigor are increased. Prolonged closing of the stomata seems to be the principal mode of action of the chemical.Entities:
