Abstract
Bean plants subjected to a sodium chloride concentratioz about onetenth that of seawater for 1 week suffered no damage if the calcium concentration of the nutrient solution was 1 millimole per liter or higher, but at lower calcium concentrations damage was severe and apparently due to a massive breakthrough of sodium into the leaves.Entities:
