Abstract
Free-electron lasers are tunable, potentially powerful sources of coherent radiation over a broad range of wavelengths from the far-infrared to the far-ultraviolet regions of the spectrum. These unique capabilities make them suitable for a broad variety of applications from medicine to strategic defense.Year: 1988 PMID: 17791971 DOI: 10.1126/science.239.4844.1115
