Ribosomal-RNA Synthesis in the Absence of Ribosome Synthesis in Germinating Cotton Seeds.

Cotton embryos after 72 hours of germination synthesize ribosomal RNA that does not become incorporated into ribosomes and that is very stable. This RNA has many characteristics similar to those of newly synthesized ribosomal RNA of bacteria.
