Abstract
Airway complications rarely occur in 131I radioiodine therapy for Graves' disease. This study presents two cases in which 131I therapy caused this acute complication. The patients complained of the symptom 6 h and 33 h after administration of 131I. A histamine H1 receptor antagonist and hydrocortisone rapidly resolved symptoms in both cases. These two cases remind physicians that 131I therapy for Graves' disease may cause potentially life-threatening complications.Entities:
