Abstract
Primary care providers routinely encounter patients with interacting physical and psychological conditions that present as undifferentiated symptoms and feelings. Caring for the whole patient requires a good understanding of the interconnection between physical, psychological and social dimensions that may affect patients' well-being. In this article, we review the relationship between psychological distress and multimorbidity through the presentation of clinical vignettes from the real world of primary care, and discuss a team-based approach to managing care for this complex patient population.Entities:
