Abstract
Sixty years ago saw the passing of Edward Almroth Wright, Professor of Pathology at the Army Medical College between 1892 and 1902. Wright secured his place in the medical pantheon, and significant fame, with the discovery of an effective vaccine for typhoid in 1897.
