S-shaped coaxial dilators for male urethral strictures.

Sender Herschorn1, Edison Carrington.

Abstract

Male urethral stricture dilatation is done with sounds, filiforms and followers, balloons, or coaxial dilators inserted over a guidewire. To facilitate stricture dilatation and minimize trauma a new S-shaped coaxial urethral dilator was designed. Prototypes were tested, and the final design was devised with a technique for successful insertion.
