[Between the art of healing and medical technology--the doctor's responsibility. Responsibility between medical art and technics].

Günther Pöltner1.

Abstract

We bear responsibility--for others as well as for ourselves. Responsibility increases with knowledge and competence and requires limits. At the present time we face such challenges as uniform of medical responsibility, normative implications of medical indications, the relation between medical disclosure and the patient's behaviour, medical science as the supply of services in the face of demand indicated by such supply or the scope of responsibility considering the trend towards the juridification of medical practice (liability for medical malpractice).
